Renamed Standard Field Label Not Reflected on iPad (Life Science)

Publiceringsdatum: Jul 11, 2026
Beskrivning

This article covers two related field-display issues in Salesforce Life Sciences Cloud and Health Cloud where renamed labels or catalog names do not appear as expected in the mobile app or Consent Capture component.

- Symptom 1: After renaming a standard field label in Setup, the Salesforce mobile app on iPad continues to display the old label even though the web/Lightning UI shows the updated label.

- Symptom 2 (variant): Specialty values synchronized from OneKey display the specialty code instead of the specialty name in the mobile app, while the web version shows the name correctly.

Customers describe this as:
- "Renamed standard field label not reflecting on iPad"
- "Consent component shows Email 1 / Phone 1 instead of channel name"
- "App shows the code instead of the specialty name"

This behavior is not caused by a permission set; it affects all users on the affected device or component.

Root cause:

Both primary symptoms share the same underlying cause: certain components and mobile caches use their own internal labels or the related record's Name field rather than the configured catalog label or renamed standard field label.

- Cause 1 (iPad / mobile): The Salesforce mobile app caches label metadata locally. After a standard field label is renamed in Setup, the cached metadata persists on the device until the cache is explicitly cleared.
- Cause 2 (OneKey specialty): The mobile layout is bound to the specialty Code field rather than the specialty Name field, so the code value is displayed instead of the readable name.

--- Cause 1: Renamed Standard Field Label Not Reflected on iPad ---

1. Confirm the rename is saved on the web: Go to Setup > Object Manager > select the object (for example, Assessment Task [AssessmentTask]) > Fields & Relationships > open the field (for example, ReferenceRecordId) and verify the Label value reads "Action Plan".

2. Force a cache refresh on the iPad: Fully close the Salesforce mobile app (swipe it away from the app switcher), then reopen it.

3. If the old label persists, clear cached data: In the Salesforce mobile app, go to the user avatar > Settings > Advanced > Clear Cached Data (or log out and log back in) to force a metadata refresh.

4. Verify the renamed field is included in the active mobile/compact layout: Go to Setup > Object Manager > select the object > Compact Layouts and Page Layouts and confirm the field is present so the new label renders correctly on iPad.

--- Cause 2: Specialty Shows the Code Instead of the Name (OneKey Sync) ---

1. Understand the root cause: The mobile app displays the field value stored on the record. If OneKey synchronizes the specialty code into the field bound to the layout, the code is displayed instead of the name.

2. Bind the layout field to the specialty Name field: Go to Setup > Object Manager > select the object > Page Layouts. Remove the code field and add the specialty name field.

3. If both code and name are required: Add a formula or a lookup-displayed name field so the readable name renders in the app. ---

VERIFICATION

Confirm the issue is resolved by completing the following checks:

1. Renamed field label on iPad: Reopen the affected screen on the iPad after clearing the cache and verify the renamed label (for example, "Action Plan") appears instead of the original field name.

2. Specialty name in mobile app: Open a contact record in the Salesforce mobile app and confirm the specialty name displays instead of the specialty code. ---
