Unable to Connect to Oracle NetSuite from Tableau Desktop, Prep, and Server After Upgrading to Version 2025.1 or Later

Udgivelsesdato: Jul 10, 2026
Beskrivelse

Customers using the Oracle NetSuite CData JDBC connector (downloaded from Tableau's Drivers page or the Tableau Exchange marketplace) experience a connectivity failure after upgrading to Tableau 2025.1 or later. The issue occurs because Tableau 2025.1+ ships with Java 17, which is stricter about Windows registry key permissions than earlier Java versions.

The following error is observed:

"An error occurred while communicating with NetSuite. The JDBC driver host process failed to respond. Unable to connect to the NetSuite server. Check that the server is running and that you have access privileges to the requested database. Connector Class: cdata_netsuite, Version: 20.7923.0"

Additionally, the Java layer logs this error:

"Could not open/create prefs root node Software\JavaSoft\Prefs at root 0xffffffff80000002. Windows RegCreateKeyEx(...) returned error code 5."

This behaviour is confirmed on Tableau Desktop 2025.1 and later (including 2025.2, 2025.3, and 2026.x). Tableau Desktop 2024.2 and earlier are not affected.

Løsning
