Starting June 2026, Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) will be strictly enforced on the Salesforce platform.
No direct changes apply to Tableau products, including Tableau Cloud.
Users who access only Tableau products do not need to configure MFA on the Tableau side.
System administrators who already configured phishing-resistant MFA for Salesforce core products do not need additional settings to access Tableau products.
Users who have not completed MFA configuration on Salesforce will not be able to connect to Salesforce data in these scenarios.
If users do not complete MFA setup before enforcement, they may experience:
No changes are required in Tableau Desktop, Tableau Cloud, Tableau Server, or Tableau Prep Builder settings.
Users must complete multi-factor authentication (MFA) setup on their Salesforce accounts to restore or maintain the Salesforce connector.
