Salesforce Financial Services Cloud: FinServ.EventTrigger TriggerException on creating or editing Tasks, Opportunities, and custom objects

Publiseringsdato: Jul 14, 2026
Beskrivelse

Users of Salesforce Financial Services Cloud (FSC) may be unable to create or edit Tasks, Opportunities, or custom objects when the FSC managed package trigger runs.

The action fails with the exception: "FinServ.EventTrigger: execution of AfterUpdate caused by: FinServ.MoiExceptionWrapper.TriggerException: Something's not quite right. Try your action again, and if the issue continues, contact your administrator for help. (FinServ)".

A closely related variant appears as "FinServ.FinancialHoldingTrigger: execution of BeforeInsert caused by: FinServ.MoiExceptionWrapper.TriggerException".

User may describe this as: "Trigger issue impacting multiple objects" and "when users are trying to create or edit the tasks, opportunities, and custom objects which involves the finserv trigger we are having an exception."

The issue can affect large numbers of internal users at once because the FinServ.EventTrigger fires across multiple objects. The underlying cause is that the Manage Sharing configuration under Identity Verification triggers the FSC managed package logic in a way that raises the wrapped trigger exception.

Løsning

The following steps resolve the Financial Services Cloud (FSC) managed package trigger exception "FinServ.EventTrigger: execution of AfterUpdate caused by: FinServ.MoiExceptionWrapper.TriggerException: Something's not quite right" that blocks creation or editing of Tasks, Opportunities, and custom objects. Setting Manage Sharing to None stops the FSC managed package trigger from raising the exception when the affected records are created or edited.

Cause: Manage Sharing under Identity Verification triggers the FinServ managed package exception:

The FinServ.EventTrigger and related FSC managed package triggers raise a FinServ.MoiExceptionWrapper.TriggerException when the Manage Sharing setting under Identity Verification is active. Disabling this setting prevents the trigger from failing across Tasks, Opportunities, and custom objects.

Steps to resolve:

  • Navigate to Setup.
  • Enter Identity Verification in the Quick Find box and select Identity Verification.
  • Locate the Manage Sharing setting.
  • Set Manage Sharing to None.
  • Save the change.

Verification:

Have an affected user re-attempt the action that previously failed — create or edit a Task, Opportunity, or custom object record that invokes the FinServ trigger. Confirm the record saves successfully and the "FinServ.EventTrigger ... FinServ.MoiExceptionWrapper.TriggerException" error no longer appears.

Related variant: FinServ.FinancialHoldingTrigger exception:

A related Financial Services Cloud managed package error, "FinServ.FinancialHoldingTrigger: execution of BeforeInsert caused by: FinServ.MoiExceptionWrapper.TriggerException", can appear during record creation. This shares the same FinServ.MoiExceptionWrapper.TriggerException wrapper. Confirm the Manage Sharing configuration under Identity Verification, then re-run the failing insert to confirm the record saves without the trigger exception
