Validation Error Persists in OmniScript Select Element After Selecting a Valid Value

Publish Date: Jul 13, 2026
Description

This behavior occurs when a user manually enters an invalid value into an OmniScript Select element. Although the component correctly displays a validation error, selecting a valid value afterward does not automatically clear the error state.

Product Engineering has reviewed this behavior and confirmed that it is a valid issue. However, because the behavior is specific to the OmniStudio Managed Package implementation, it is not planned to be addressed through a product fix.

Affected Version: OmniStudio Managed Package Runtime 262.5

Steps to Reproduce

  1. In an org running OmniStudio Managed Package Runtime 262.5:
    • Create an OmniScript with two steps.
    • Add a Select element and configure it with valid options.
  2. Click Preview.
  3. In the Select field, manually type an invalid value (for example, 9999 or abcd).
  4. Observe the validation message: "Select a valid value from the list."
  5. Select a valid option from the dropdown.
  6. Click Next.
  7. Observe that navigation is blocked because the validation error remains displayed.
  8. In the Select field, manually type an invalid value again (for example, 9999 or abcd) and then delete the invalid text.
  9. Observe that the validation error disappears and the OmniScript proceeds normally.
Resolution

This behavior has been reviewed by Product Engineering and identified as a valid issue that is specific to the OmniStudio Managed Package implementation. A product fix is not planned.
