Opportunity Not Created Out-of-the-Box During Amend or Renew in Revenue Cloud

When an Amendment or Renewal Quote is generated in Salesforce Revenue Cloud, the behavior depends on the Quote Settings configuration:

Create Quotes Without Opportunity = Enabled
1. Revenue Cloud allows Quotes to exist without a related Opportunity.
2. No Opportunity is created during the Amendment or Renewal process.
3. Consequently, the Opportunity Name and Account Name fields on the Quote remain blank.
Create Quotes Without Opportunity = Disabled
1. Revenue Cloud requires every Quote to be associated with an Opportunity.
2. During the Amendment or Renewal process, the Quote is associated with an Opportunity.
3. As a result, the Opportunity Name and Account Name fields are populated on the Quote.

This behavior is expected and is controlled by the Create Quotes Without Opportunity setting under Quote Settings.

This behavior is working as designed.

If your business requires Amendment or Renewal Quotes to always display the Opportunity Name and Account Name, you have the following options:

Disable the "Create Quotes Without Opportunity" setting under Quote Settings, which ensures Quotes are associated with an Opportunity and the related fields are populated.
If enabling quotes without Opportunities is required for your business process, implement custom automation (such as Salesforce Flow or Apex) to create and associate an Opportunity with the Amendment or Renewal Quote after it is generated.

Once the Quote is associated with an Opportunity, the Opportunity Name and Account Name fields are populated as expected.
