The trigger conditions are: a service resource has multiple Shift records that combine work topics and engagement channels (for example, a Topic Shift and a Virtual Channel Shift), and the Multiple Topics for Shifts (ShiftWorkTopic) feature or appointment overlap rules are not configured to prevent the resulting conflicts.
Cause 1: Wrong topics appear when a service resource has multiple Shift records with engagement channels
⚠️ Critical — this setting is irreversible. Once Multiple Topics for Shifts is enabled, it cannot be disabled without Salesforce internal (GOD-level admin) intervention. Test thoroughly in a sandbox before enabling in production, and verify all ShiftWorkTopic records have non-zero capacity values before go-live — a default capacity of 0 blocks all resource retrieval entirely.
