When Quick Promotions are configured in Salesforce Loyalty Management, one or both of the following situations may be encountered:
Common questions include:
The Loyalty Management Permission Set License (PSL) must be provisioned in the organization before Quick Promotions and the promotion designer can be used. If only related Loyalty licenses, such as the Referral Marketing PSL, are provisioned and the Loyalty Management PSL is not available, the promotion designer permissions and related objects are not available for assignment. Granting access to the related objects through a permission set alone does not provide the required functionality.
Quick Promotions and the standard promotion templates are designed primarily for transaction-based point accrual. As a result, awarding points for events such as birthdays or other non-purchase activities is not supported natively through these templates and requires a different implementation approach.
This behavior applies to Salesforce Loyalty Management organizations in which the Loyalty Management license has been purchased and provisioned.
Quick Promotions allow you to create loyalty promotions by using predefined templates instead of building promotions from scratch. The templates available, along with the required permissions, determine the promotion capabilities.
Commonly used templates include:
To design promotions by using these templates, users must have the Loyalty Program Promotion Designer permission, and the org must have access to Data Cloud.
If the Loyalty Program Promotion Designer permission set or Quick Promotion design objects are not available, the Loyalty Management Permission Set License (PSL) has likely not been provisioned in the org.
An organization may have another Loyalty-related license, such as the Referral Marketing PSL, without having the required Loyalty Management PSL. In this situation, enabling the related objects in a permission set is not sufficient. The Loyalty Management PSL must first be provisioned and assigned before the promotion designer permissions and objects become available.
Open the loyalty program and verify that the Accrual Promotion Template and Pricing Promotion Template are available when creating a new promotion. Also confirm that the Quick Promotion design objects are visible.
If the requirement is to award points, such as birthday or bonus points, without a qualifying purchase or transaction, Quick Promotions and the standard accrual promotion templates do not provide this capability natively.
The standard promotion templates are designed for transaction-triggered accrual. In addition, the Enroll In Promotion process template does not support Credit Points or Debit Points as additional rules.
To award points for non-transactional events:
Run the Flow or Apex for a test member whose birthday falls within the selected period and verify that the member's point balance increases without requiring an associated purchase or qualifying transaction.
