Proactive Alert Monitoring: Planner Session Start Failures

Publish Date: Jul 20, 2026
Description

The Signature Success plan’s Proactive Monitoring product will monitor for, and alert you about Planner Session Start Failures when a high percentage of new agent sessions fail to start for your org.

If you receive an alert from the Proactive Monitoring service related to this metric, it indicates that end users may be unable to begin a conversation with your agent — the session fails before the agent responds to the first message.

Resolution

Resolution:

Here are some common practices & resources that may help to resolve issues related to this alert:

  • Verify the affected agent is active.

    • The agent activation toggle can be found in Setup → Search for Agentforce Agents.

  • Test the agent in the Agentforce Studio preview to confirm whether new conversations can be started.

  • Review any recent changes to the agent.

    • If a new agent version was recently deployed, or topics, actions, or connected data sources were changed, consider rolling back the change to see if sessions start successfully again.

  • Verify that the integration user and channel configuration (for example, Embedded Messaging deployment) used by the agent have not changed.

  • If sessions still fail to start, consider this as an issue on the Salesforce side.

    • You will be notified through your support case as the issue is investigated and when the service is restored.
