Einstein Case Classification model creation fails when Einstein Agent permission set is included in a Permission Set or Permission set Group

Publish Date: Jul 21, 2026
Description

When creating or rebuilding an Einstein Case Classification model, administrators may encounter an internal server error similar to the following:

An internal server error has occurred. Error ID: <Error ID>

This issue can occur when the Einstein Agent permission set has been added to a customer-created Permission Set Group.

The Einstein Agent permission set is a system-managed permission set whose permissions are managed internally by Salesforce. Adding this permission set to customer-created Permission Set Groups is not a supported configuration and can interfere with Einstein Case Classification model creation or configuration.

Symptoms

  • Einstein Case Classification model creation fails.
  • Rebuilding an existing model fails.
  • Configuring prediction fields fails.
  • Internal server error (gack) is displayed.
Resolution

Verify whether the Einstein Agent permission set has been added to any customer-created Permission Set Groups.

If it has:

  1. Remove the Einstein Agent permission set from the customer-created Permission Set Group(s).
  2. Retry creating or rebuilding the Einstein Case Classification model.

After removing the Einstein Agent permission set from the Permission Set Groups, model creation should complete successfully.
