When generating an intake form from an Onboarding Template in the ITSM Org, users may encounter an error indicating that the name exceeds the 80-character limit.

In the reported scenario, the visible name entered was "Onboard Employee 1", which is within the allowed character limit. However, the error occurred because the system-generated API names for certain attributes exceeded the 80-character limit.

This issue may be caused by an attribute with a long name combined with multiple picklist values, resulting in generated names that are longer than the platform supports.

  1. Review the attributes configured in the Onboarding Template used for intake form generation.
  2. Identify any attributes with long names or attributes containing multiple picklist values that may generate lengthy API names.
  3. Remove the attribute causing the generated name to exceed the 80-character limit.
  4. Create a new attribute with a shorter name to ensure that the generated API names remain within the supported limit.
  5. Generate the intake form again to confirm that the issue is resolved.
