When all agents in an org are inactive — including the Agentforce (Default) agent — users may still see the Agentforce icon. Clicking it returns an error: "Agentforce — Something went wrong. Refresh the conversation and try again." This article explains the cause and how to resolve it.
Symptoms
The Agentforce icon is visible to users in the org.
Clicking the icon displays the error:
Name: Agentforce
Error: Something went wrong. Refresh the conversation and try again.
All agents under Setup > Agentforce Agents are inactive, including the Agentforce (Default) agent.
The Agentforce (Default) agent is enabled in the org and listed under Agentforce Agents in Setup. Even when all agents are inactive, its presence causes the Agentforce icon to remain visible — and triggers the error when accessed.
If you do not intend to activate any agents, disable the Agentforce (Default) agent:
Navigate to Setup > Einstein Audit, Analytics, and Monitoring Setup.
Toggle the "Enable the Agentforce (Default) Agent" option to Off.
Expected Outcome
The Agentforce icon will no longer be visible to users.
The Agentforce (Default) agent will be removed from Setup > Agentforce Agents.
