MuleSoft Applications Not Running in New Region After Organization Default Region Change

Publish Date: Jul 27, 2026
Description

Changing the default region for a MuleSoft organization primarily affects *new* deployments and the default selection for future application deployments. Existing applications are tied to the specific region where they were originally deployed. The platform does not automatically migrate or redeploy applications when the organization's default region is changed. To have an application run in the new default region, it must be explicitly redeployed to that region.

Resolution

To ensure your applications are running in the newly configured default region for your organization, follow these steps:

1. Verify the Organization's Default Region:

* Confirm with your MuleSoft administrator or support team that the default region for your organization has been successfully updated to the desired new region.

* You can typically observe the default region when creating a new application or environment in Anypoint Platform.

2. Redeploy Existing Applications:

* For each application that you intend to run in the new default region, you must perform a redeployment.
