Anypoint Monitoring Custom Metrics Display Null or Incomplete Values in Dashboards

Kuvaus

The custom metric data is being sent to Anypoint Monitoring with incomplete or missing values for certain fields. When the monitoring system processes this data, it displays null or omits the data for those fields in dashboards because the expected information was not provided in the incoming metric payload.

Ratkaisu

To resolve custom metrics displaying null or incomplete values, ensure that all required data fields are consistently populated when sending metric data to Anypoint Monitoring.

1. Identify the Metric Source: Determine the origin of the custom metric data.
2. Review Metric Payload/Structure: Examine the exact data payload or structure being generated and sent for the custom metric.
3. Ensure Data Completeness: Verify that all intended fields and their corresponding values are present and correctly populated in the metric data *before* it is sent to Anypoint Monitoring.
4. Test with Complete Data: Send a test metric with all fields fully populated and observe if the data appears correctly in the Anypoint Monitoring dashboard.
5. Consider New Metric Definition (if necessary): If the existing metric's data generation process is complex or difficult to modify, consider defining a new custom metric with a clear structure and implement its data generation to guarantee all required fields are always populated.
