1. Create or update a Sybase .tdc file with the required connection customization, and ensure the driver version referenced in the .tdc file matches version 16.01 for the exact driver version noted in the edit ODBC connection window.
2. Place the .tdc file in all required Tableau Server directories on each node, including Server, Virtual Connections, Prep Flows, and Prep Web Authoring locations.
3. Verify that the Tableau Server run-as user has full access to the .tdc files, then restart Tableau Server with TSM restart so the configuration is picked up.
4. Retest the prep flow connection to the Sybase 16.1 database after the restart. If needed, validate the connection in Tableau Desktop with the same TDC file and republish to Tableau Server.
