Hyperlinks Render as URLs Instead of Clickable Labels in Salesforce CPQ Quote Documents

Publish Date: Aug 6, 2026
Description

When generating a quote document, hyperlinks embedded in HTML template content may display as the complete URL (for example, https://example.com) rather than the intended hyperlink text (for example, Click Here).

This behavior occurs when either of the following conditions is true:

  • The Exclude Page Numbers option is enabled on the Quote Template.
  • An Additional PDF Document is attached during quote document generation, either on the Quote Template or the Quote record.

Resolution

To verify whether this known issue is the cause:

  1. Confirm that the Exclude Page Numbers field is not enabled on the Quote Template.
  2. Check whether any Additional PDF Documents are attached to the Quote Template or the Quote record.
  3. Create a new quote without attaching any Additional PDF Documents and generate the document again.
  4. If the hyperlinks render correctly, the behavior is consistent with the known issue.

If Additional PDF Documents are required, this behavior is expected, and there is currently no product fix available.
