Considerations for Conversation Recommendations
Conversation recommendations include two types: welcome recommendations and in-conversation recommendations. Review these considerations before you set up conversation recommendations.
- Welcome recommendations and in-conversation recommendations are controlled by separate settings. Turning off one type doesn't affect the other.
- Welcome recommendations appear when the Agentforce panel opens from supported record pages, list views, and Lightning app Home pages. An app shows welcome recommendations on its Home page only if the app has a Home page.
- Welcome recommendations are based on the app and its configured agent, not on a user's previous conversation history.
- Welcome recommendations are contextual to the page, so they change as users move between pages. After a user starts a conversation, either by selecting a welcome recommendation or by entering a message, welcome recommendations no longer appear, and the agent suggests in-conversation recommendations instead.
- A new set of welcome recommendations loads only when a session starts, such as when a user loads or refreshes the page or clears the session.
- If an agent has no static starter prompts, welcome recommendations are generated dynamically.
- If you turn off welcome recommendations, your customized recommendations are saved but deactivated. They become available again when you turn welcome recommendations back on.
- Welcome recommendations are supported in both the new Agentforce Builder and the legacy builder.
- For support and limitations specific to Agentforce Builder, see Agentforce Builder Considerations.
