Manually Apply Policies from an MCP Server Record Page

Manually Apply Policies from an MCP Server Record Page

Apply a policy to your MCP server to control access, set usage limits, and ensure compliance. You can add Agentforce Gateway policies that are available to apply manually.

          Required Editions

          Available in: Lightning Experience
Available in: Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Developer Editions. Required add-on licenses vary by agent type.
          User Permissions Needed
To manage MCP server registrations: Manage AI Agents AND the required permissions for your agent type
          Note
Note Rule-based policies are automatically applied to MCP servers and agents that meet the conditions you specified, so they can’t be managed from an MCP server record page. To apply or remove a rule-based policy, edit the policy rules in Policy Builder.
          1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Agentforce, and then select Agentforce Registry.
          2. Click the name of the server you want to edit, and then select the Policies tab. If you’ve added any policies that apply to your server, they appear here.
          3. To apply a policy, click Apply Policy.
            1. Select an existing MCP server policy available to apply manually, and then click Apply Policy.
            2. To create a new policy instead, click Create Policy to launch Policy Builder.

You can create, apply, and remove policies from Policy Builder in Agentforce Gateway. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Agentforce Gateway, and then select Policies.
