          Agentforce Agent Migration Guide

          Agentforce Agent Migration Guide

If you’re an Agentforce customer using agents you built in our legacy builder, this guide is for you. It’s a centralized resource for migrating your existing agents from the legacy Agentforce Builder in Salesforce Setup to the new Agentforce Builder in the Agentforce Studio app. It helps you decide if, why, and how to migrate, and it covers the tools and guidance you need to make your migration cost- and time-effective. Use it to go from a prompt-based, sometimes unpredictable agent to a precise, reliable agent that reasons when it has to and just gets things done when it doesn’t.

          Required Editions

          Available in: Lightning Experience
Available in: Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Developer Editions. Required add-on licenses vary by agent type.
          • Decide Whether to Migrate and When
The question isn’t whether to move to the new Agentforce Builder. It’s when to get started and what to bring with you.
          • Preparing to Migrate
Before you begin, familiarize yourself with the new Agentforce Builder and Agent Script, learn how the upgraded reasoning engine works, and explore migration tools to choose the approach that works best for you.
          • Planning and Designing for Agent Script
Before migrating, spend time designing your subagent instructions and conversational flow. The level of time and effort varies depending on what tools you plan to use to migrate, the complexity of your agent, and how well your agent performs today. This prep helps you determine what parts of your agent can be migrated directly with no changes and what parts are candidates for redesign. It also prepares you to make deliberate decisions about where to introduce determinism in your new agent, so you can improve your agent strategically instead of reactively.
          • Implementing Your Migration
With your tools selected and your Agent Script improvement plan in place, it’s time to migrate. Take a staged and iterative approach to make your migration easier to manage, test, and troubleshoot. Get tips for working effectively with testing tools, third-party AI tools, and your team.
