          Agent Testing Strategy

          Agent Testing Strategy

Before you start testing your agent, you need a plan to make sure your tests are comprehensive enough to provide you with the right information. A good testing strategy can help you get the right data so you can make the right adjustments.

          Required Editions

          Available in: Lightning Experience
Available in: Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Developer Editions. Required add-on licenses vary by agent type.

Because AI agents combine deterministic expressions with non-deterministic reasoning, it’s important to test across a range of scenarios to confirm consistent and accurate performance. To validate behavior, measure performance at scale, and identify improvements before deployment, use a combination of manual testing in Agentforce Builder and automated batch testing in Agentforce Testing Center. But testing doesn’t stop at launch. Testing is an ongoing process even after the agent is live, requiring consistent tracking of results, issue identification, and retesting of improvements over time.

          • Test Preparation
Comprehensive testing begins with clearly defining what success looks like for your agent. Preparation also involves breaking down the agent into components, like subagents and actions, and identifying the most relevant data for evaluation. After you have this information, you can move on to designing effective structured test scenarios that reflect real-world interactions.
