Grid templates are reusable starting points that package a fully configured Grid, including columns, prompts, queries, and logic. By using templates, anyone in your org can get started without building from scratch.

Building an effective Grid requires time and expertise: selecting the right column types, writing prompts, and defining queries. Without templates, that work stays with the original author. Templates turn a single well-configured Grid into an org-wide asset.
Templates also help new users get started faster. Instead of learning column types and SOQL upfront, users pick a template, add their records, and run workflows immediately.
Templates store column configuration only. They don't include row data, run history, or cell outputs. Authors can publish updates to an existing template without creating duplicates. Updates don't affect Grids previously created from the template.
