Review Objects in the Base Semantic Model (Beta)
During field mapping, the CRM Analytics Metadata Bridge shows source objects that are already in the base semantic model so you can focus on the objects that the extend flow adds.
When you extend an existing semantic model, the CRM Analytics Metadata Bridge doesn't re-ingest source objects that the base semantic model already covers. At each field mapping step, the bridge separates source objects into two groups so that you know what's new and what already exists.
Field Mapping and Data Lake Object Generation
On the DLO mapping step, the bridge shows:
- Mapped - source objects that need a DLO created or an existing DLO mapping confirmed for the extended semantic model.
- Already in the Semantic Layer - source objects that the base semantic model already includes. These entries are read-only, and the bridge doesn't create new DLOs for them.
Complete DLO setup for the source objects listed in Mapped and on the Require Action tab, and then continue to DMO mapping. See Map Fields and Generate Data Lake Objects for the shared steps.
Field Mapping and Data Model Object Generation
On the DMO mapping step, the bridge shows the same two groups:
- Mapped - source objects that need a DMO mapping for the extended semantic model.
- Already in the Semantic Layer - source objects mapped to DMOs in the base semantic model. The bridge indicates whether each existing DMO is Standard or Custom. These entries are read-only.
Confirm the target DMOs for the source objects listed in Mapped, complete DMO setup for any objects on the Require Action tab, and continue to the semantic model generation step. See Map Fields and Generate Data Model Objects for the shared steps.
Then, continue to Generate the Extended Semantic Model (Beta)
