Important
Important CRM Analytics MCP server is available in production, sandbox, and scratch orgs.

Before you start, make sure that you have a supported MCP client: Claude (Desktop, Web, or Code), Cursor, ChatGPT (developer mode), Agentforce Vibes 2.0, or another client. Your client must support OAuth 2.0 Authorization Code with Proof Key for Code Exchange (PKCE).

MCP servers are off by default. Complete the steps to get started with Salesforce hosted MCPs.

To connect your AI assistant to CRM Analytics, create an ECA and turn on the server in Salesforce. Then log in to the target org and complete OAuth in your MCP client.

  1. Create an ECA that uses OAuth 2.0 Authorization Code with PKCE.

CRM Analytics MCP server authenticates using the ECA. See Create an External Client App, and use the callback URL for your MCP client. Examples include https://claude.ai/api/mcp/auth_callback for Claude and cursor://anysphere.cursor-mcp/oauth/callback for Cursor.

  2. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter MCP Servers, and then select MCP Servers under API Catalog.
  3. Turn on CRM Analytics MCP Server.
  4. Sign out of all other Salesforce orgs. In your default browser, log in to the org with your ECA, and leave the browser open.

Your MCP client opens a new tab during authentication. Signing in to the correct org first helps prevent the multitenant conflicts that cause most connection failures.

  5. Add CRM Analytics MCP server to your MCP client by using the server URL for your org type, and complete the OAuth flow when the client opens a browser tab.
    • Production: https://api.salesforce.com/platform/mcp/v1/analytics/crma-beta
    • Sandbox or scratch org: https://api.salesforce.com/platform/mcp/v1/sandbox/analytics/crma-beta

Each user authenticates individually. CRM Analytics MCP server doesn't support service account patterns. For client-specific connection instructions, see Configure Your MCP Client.

Example
Example

Confirm the connection by asking a discovery prompt in your AI client.

Sample prompt: What analytics apps do I have access to?

Expected result: The AI client returns the folders (apps) that you can access by using list_folders.

For more first-session prompts, see CRM Analytics MCP server Troubleshooting and Tips. If the client can't connect or no tools appear, see the same topic.
