Create, Extend, and Clone Models

Create, extend, and clone semantic models.

Create a New Model

Open the Command Palette and run Tableau Semantic: Create Model.
Provide the model details.
- Model and API name
- Dataspace selection
- Initial data objects
Choose a folder location.

The extension creates a model folder with the selected configuration.

Extend an Existing Model

Create a model that inherits from a base model.

The extension creates a model with a base/ folder containing the inherited model definition.

Duplicate an existing model under a new name.

The extension creates an independent copy of the model.
