Remove Access to Semantic Model in Tableau Semantics

Remove access to a semantic model so that users can no longer view or edit that model in Tableau Semantics. You can remove access for individual users, and you can restrict the general access for the model so that only users who are individually added can access it.

Available in: All editions supported by Data 360. See Data 360 edition availability.
User Permissions Needed
To remove access to a semantic model:

Permission set:

  • Data Cloud Architect

AND

Semantic Models object

Remove access for individual users

  1. In Data Cloud, go to the Semantic Layer tab and select Share from the drop-down list of options for the semantic model. Alternatively, open the model and click Share in the top right corner.
    The Share Semantic Model window opens.
  2. Next to a user’s name, select Remove Access, then click Remove Access to confirm.
  3. Click Done.

Restrict general access for all users

  1. In Data Cloud, go to the Semantic Layer tab and select Share from the drop-down list of options for the semantic model. Alternatively, open the model and click Share in the top right corner.
    The Share Semantic Model window opens.
  2. Under General Access, select Restricted
  3. Click Done.

Only the users listed under Users with Access can view or edit the semantic models with restricted general access.
