Submetric Goals in Data 360

Tableau Semantics goals address issues such as fragmented goal management, lack of visibility, and inconsistent measurement. Users can set multiple goals per submetric, define specific goal values, and set status conditions. They can specify a target value or range for the submetric, set a time range with start and end dates, and select colors to indicate the goal status.

Example A retail company can improve sales performance by setting and tracking specific sales goals within Tableau. Sales teams can define these goals, set target values and status conditions, and specify time ranges. For example, the company aims to reach $200 million in sales in the US during the first three months of the year. In June, they target an average order value of $40. Real-time monitoring and regular measurement make sure that goals are tracked correctly. This helps to improve sales strategies and resource allocation.
