Generate the Extended Semantic Model (Beta)

Generate the Extended Semantic Model (Beta)

Review the data model objects that the Reports Metadata Bridge adds to the base semantic model, and then generate the extended semantic model.

Note
Note This feature is a pilot or beta service that is subject to the Beta Services Terms at Agreements - Salesforce.com or a written Unified Pilot Agreement if executed by Customer, and applicable terms in the Product Terms Directory. Use of this pilot or beta service is at the Customer’s sole discretion.
Generate an extended semantic model
  1. Enter a Semantic Model Name and Semantic Model API Name.
  2. Confirm the Tableau Next Workspace to assign to the semantic model.
  3. Enter a Semantic Model Description.
  4. Under Included Data Model Objects, review the data model objects and fields that the bridge adds to the extended semantic model.
The Included Data Model Objects table lists only the new DMOs that the bridge adds to the extended semantic model. DMOs already in the base semantic model aren't listed.
  5. Click Generate Semantic Model.

After the bridge generates the extended semantic model, a success message shows the semantic model name. The base semantic model isn't modified. To open the extended semantic model in the Semantic Model Builder, click View Model. For more information on working with semantic models, see Structure Data within a Semantic Model.
