          Simplify Cross-Functional Analysis by Using Multi-Model Filtering

          Filter fields across separate objects and visualizations that have disparate semantic data models with a single dashboard interaction.

          Required Editions

          View supported editions.
          User Permissions Needed
          To edit the Tableau Next dashboards: Tableau Unmetered Platform Analyst or Tableau Next Platform Analyst permission set
          1. In the dashboard editor, select the filter widget you want to configure.
          2. Go to the Actions tab.
            Add Action button on the Actions tab.
          3. Click the Add Action button.
          4. To bind the widget to fields in other semantic data models, click Update Filter.

          5. For each model you want to include, select the target field that corresponds to your filter.
            1. To map to the filter widget, click Choose Field and select a model and field.
            2. Click Select then Done.
            The filter widget automatically updates all connected visualizations built on different semantic data models.
