Track Installations and Refreshes from the Monitor Tab

Track Installations and Refreshes from the Monitor Tab

The Monitor tab lists every create, update, and refresh event for the templated apps in your org. Use it to confirm that an installation finished successfully, find out why an event failed, or inspect the runtime state used during installation.

          Required Editions

          Available in:
The Monitor tab with a list of app event details.

For each event, the list shows the event name, app name, status, the user who started it and when, the duration, overview, and log level. At run time, the task overview shows how many tasks are successful, failed, and not started. After completion, it shows the total successful or failed tasks.

To narrow the list, change View to a specific app instance or use the search box to find an event by name.

View Task Details for an Event

Click an event name to open its task list.

The task list for an event, showing each task's type, phase, status, start time, duration, and message.

The task list shows every task that the event ran, including its task type, phase, status, start time, duration, and message. Event phases include validate, execute, or finish.

The amount of detail depends on the log level set when the event ran. For example, setting your log level to Warning logs only execute and finish phase messages, while setting it to Fine and higher adds validate phase messages and additional detailed log entries.

Skipped tasks show with a Skipped status. This status occurs when a task type doesn't implement a particular phase.

          Inspect Task Logs and State

Click a task name to open the task details page. Switch between two views:

          • Log View—shows each log message that the task wrote, including time, user, log level, phase, source, and message text.
The log view for task details.
          • State View—shows the run time state of the app at the time of the task. The state is organized into expandable context sections, including User, Org, DataCloud, Variables, App, Dataspace, DataModelObjects, DataTransforms, Chain, and Template.
The state view for task details showing expandable sections for the app context items.

Use the state view to confirm that your template rules and conditionals have the expected values. Mismatched or missing values are a common root cause of installation failures, especially for custom templates.
