Create a Merchandising Rule in Agentic Commerce Search

In Agentic Commerce Search for B2C Commerce, merchandising rules control product ranking, placement, and visibility for specific queries, categories, or catalog attributes. A rule can target a specific query or category, or apply globally across all searches.

For priority behavior and configuration guidelines, see Merchandising Rule Components in Agentic Commerce Search.

          1. Click App Launcher, then select Merchant Tools | Agentic Commerce Search | Merchandising Rules.
          2. From the upper-right dropdown menu, select Rules.
          3. Click Create Rule and enter the rule's settings.
            1. In Rule Name (optional), enter a descriptive name for the rule.
            2. For Rule Scope, select Regular Rule or Global Rule. A Regular Rule applies to a specific search query or browse category. A Global Rule applies across all searches or browsing experiences.
            3. For Rule Type, select Search or Browse. Search rules apply to specific search queries. Browse rules apply to browse experiences.
            4. For Advanced Schedule (optional), enter Valid From and Valid To dates to schedule the rule for a specific period.
          4. Click Continue to Conditions and define the conditions that trigger the rule.
          5. In the Actions section, click + to add an action, then select the action type that matches your goal. For a description of each action type, see Merchandising Rule Action Types in Agentic Commerce Search.
          6. Click Preview & Save. If you didn’t schedule a start date, the rule becomes active immediately. Validate results in the preview panel and on your live storefront.

After you save a rule, review its priority relative to other active rules. See Resolve Merchandising Rule Conflicts.
