Prerequisites for Agentic Commerce Search
Confirm that your catalog data, event instrumentation, pricing, and inventory meet requirements for Agentic Commerce Search for B2C Commerce before provisioning. Incomplete or missing data reduces search relevance and keeps pricing sort options from working correctly.
Prerequisite Checklist
-
If your storefront uses a third-party search provider, point your search and browse API calls to SCAPI. See Shopper Search API reference and Storefront Compatibility.
-
The product catalog is complete and accurate: Missing or inaccurate catalog data degrades search relevance. See Catalog Data Requirements.
-
Session and event instrumentation is in place: Confirm that required event types are firing on your storefront. Your customer success manager confirms that events are flowing before provisioning begins. See Event Types Required.
-
Pricing data is accessible: Configure price books for the site in B2C Commerce. Confirm that pricing data is flowing from your catalog before provisioning. Products without pricing data appear in search results but don't sort correctly when a shopper selects a price-based sort option.
-
Inventory data is accessible: If you manage inventory in B2C Commerce, confirm that your inventory data is current and the sync is active. See Inventory Data.
-
Commerce Einstein is on: Confirm that Commerce Einstein is on. If it's off, shopper activity data doesn't flow to Agentic Commerce Search. See Record Shopper Activity Data.
-
Business Manager access is available: You have Business Manager access and the required role to reach Merchant Tools > Search > Search Preferences.
After you confirm all items, set up Agentic Commerce Search.
