Merchandising Rule Action Types in Agentic Commerce Search
Select the right action type for your merchandising rules in Agentic Commerce Search for B2C Commerce. Each action type controls a different aspect of how products rank or appear in results.
-
Pin: Locks a product to a fixed position regardless of relevance or behavior signals. Use Pin sparingly because it overrides AI ranking entirely for that position. Soft Pin is a suboption that places the product at or preceding the position you set without locking it.
-
Exclude: Removes a product from search results without deleting it from the catalog. Restore excluded products at any time.
-
Attribute Boost/Bury: Adjusts the ranking of products that match a specific catalog attribute value, such as Brand = "Tower 28." Select Boost to raise a product's ranking or Bury to lower it. Then specify attribute-value pairs and select one or both adjustment types:
-
Broad Rank Boost: Raises or lowers matching products throughout search results. Set a percentage strength in Broad Rank Boost Settings to control the impact.
-
Relative Position Boost: Moves matching products toward the top or bottom of results by the percentage that you set, based on their current position.
-
-
Query Rewrite: Rewrites a shopper's query before the search runs. Manual query rewrites always take precedence over automatic rewrites from Agentic Query Rewrite.
-
Redirect: Sends the shopper to a configured URL when their search query matches the defined conditions.
