Configure Batch Processes for B2C Commerce Products

To perform large-scale, one-time merchandising operations on many products efficiently, without editing each product individually, use batch processing for your products. For example, assign a product collection to a new category, remove discontinued products, set the same search or display attribute across many products.

  1. In Business Manager, go to the App Launcher App Launcher, and select Merchant Tools | site | Products and Catalogs.
  2. Select Products, and in Product Search, click Find.
  3. Select the products that you want to include in the batch process, and click Edit Selected.
  4. Select the processing action and click Next.
  5. Complete any additional steps for the specific action, and click Next.
  6. Select Finish: Go to Batch Process, and review the scheduled batch process.
You can also view the scheduled batch processes by selecting Products | Batch Processes for Products and Catalogs. You can also view whether the process succeeded or failed.
  7. If a process fails, view the log file for detailed information.
Log files are in the Import/Export log directory. The file naming convention is Batch-Business_Manager_module-timestamp.log. For example, ...\sharedata\sites\Sites-Site\units\Sites\impex\log\Batch-Products-20100128192425062.log. The log file can contain WARN, ERROR, or FATAL log messages. To see why a process failed, click the Download log file link and review the entries. See also B2C Commerce Log Files.
