          Delete a Content Block

          Delete a Content Block

Permanently delete a content block from the Content Blocks module. Before deleting, review the content block's usage to confirm it isn't referenced by any active storefront pages or regions.

          Required Editions

          Available in: B2C Commerce

To delete content blocks, your role must include the Manage_All_Libraries functional permission in the organization context, or Manage_Site_Library in the context of the site.

You can remove a content block from individual pages or delete it permanently. If pages or regions still reference a deleted content block, those areas show empty content. Review usage before deleting to identify active references. See View Content Block Usage and References.

          Choose the appropriate action:

          • Remove from pages — To remove a content block from individual pages without deleting it permanently, see Remove a Content Block from a Page.
          • Delete permanently — Use the steps in this topic to delete one or more content blocks from the Content Blocks list using bulk actions.
          1. Click App Launcher, and then select Merchant Tools | site | Content | Content Blocks.
          2. Select one or more content blocks that you want to delete.
          3. From the bulk actions menu, select Delete.
          4. In the confirmation dialog, review the usage summary and click Delete to confirm.
If the content block has active references, the dialog warns you that deleting it removes the content from those storefront locations.
The system permanently deletes the content block and removes it from all storefront locations.
