Define the Channels to Capture Shopper Consent
In Salesforce, select the channel types that you want to use to send notifications to shoppers, such as email, SMS, or WhatsApp. To use an engagement channel, create an attribute definition in your B2C Commerce instance and map it to the channel’s Salesforce record ID.

Get the Salesforce record IDs for the channel types that you want to use.
- In your connected Salesforce org, go to Data 360 and search for Engagement Channel Types.
- Select All Engagement Channel Types.
- In the list of engagement channel types, locate and select a channel.

In the URL, copy and save only the first 15 characters of the record ID.
The record ID appears after
EngagementChannelType/and before/view. For example, if the URL for Email iswww.salesforce.com/lightning/r/EngagementChannelType/0eFSG000000R5hx2AC/view, copy0eFSG000000R5hx. - Repeat these steps for each channel type that you want to use, such as email, SMS, or WhatsApp.

Create an attribute definition for each channel type.
- In your connected B2C Commerce instance, in the navigation sidebar, select .
- Click New.
- Click Attribute Definitions, and then click New.

Enter the channel ID as shown in the table.

Add the channel attribute definitions to an attribute group.
- Click Attribute Grouping.
- Under New Attribute Group, enter uma for the ID and click Add.
- In the uma attribute line, click Edit.
- Click the … icon, select the attribute definition IDs for the channels that you're using, and then click Select.

Add the Salesforce record ID to the channel attribute definition.
- In the navigation sidebar, select .
- Select the uma group.
- In the Value field next to each attribute definition, enter the corresponding record ID for the channel type.
- Click Save.
