Merchant Agent Setup for B2C Commerce
To use the Merchant Agent with B2C Commerce and the connected Salesforce org, complete the required setup tasks. The instructions assume that you’re a B2C Commerce admin and Salesforce admin responsible for merchandising in your organization.
Before you begin, make sure that you have:
- Admin access to Business Manager.
- Admin access to a Salesforce org.
Merchant Agent Setup Checklist
Use this checklist to make sure that you complete all required setup tasks for enabling the Merchant Agent.

Review the licenses required to use the Merchant Agent with B2C Commerce. - Set Up B2C Commerce with a Salesforce Connection
Set up a trusted data exchange between B2C Commerce and a dedicated Salesforce org for the Merchant Agent to work. Connect your B2C Commerce instance to Salesforce to access agentic and cross-cloud experiences. - Configure Single Sign-On to Enable Merchant Agent Features
Configure single sign-on (SSO) between B2C Commerce and Salesforce so admins can use the Merchant Agent. Use Account Manager or Salesforce as the IdP to establish the trust relationship between the two applications. - Enable Einstein AI, Agentforce, and the Merchant Agent
Enable Einstein and Agentforce features in your Salesforce org to support B2C Commerce Merchant Agent capabilities. - Assign Merchant Agent Roles and Permissions
In Business Manager, configure user roles and permissions that can access the B2C Merchant Agent features. The feature requires a single permission, BM_Agentforce_Org, which is assignable to any role. - Test the Merchant Agent
After completing the B2C Commerce Merchant Agent setup process, test the setup. Use the agent to create a boost rule with a natural-language prompt. - Troubleshoot Merchant Agent Setup
If you cannot access the B2C Commerce Merchant Agent or create a rule with the agent, check your setup.
