B2C Commerce and POS Catalog Unification
Use catalog unification to manage product data in B2C Commerce and automatically sync updates to Salesforce Point of Sale.
Turn on catalog unification to:
- Reduce manual data entry by maintaining product information in one system.
- Ensure consistent pricing, descriptions, and availability across online and physical stores.
- Streamline merchandising workflows for omnichannel operations.
Without catalog unification, you manually update product data in both B2C Commerce and Point of Sale, increasing the risk of data inconsistencies and pricing errors across channels.
When you turn on catalog unification, B2C Commerce becomes the source for product information. Product data syncs automatically from your selected B2C Commerce catalog to Point of Sale according to the feed schedule you configure.
After you turn on unification, product data in Point of Sale becomes read only. You manage all product changes in B2C Commerce, including product details, field mappings, and feed schedules.
Prerequisites
- A Point of Sale system on Hyperforce
- The following feature switches enabled in B2C Commerce. See Set Feature Switches (Toggles) in B2C
Commerce for instructions:
- Retail Cloud POS: Enables Point of Sale module
- Unified Commerce: Enables catalog unification
- Enable POS Feed Generation (CFT): Enables product feed from B2C Commerce to POS
- Enable Multi-Locale Feed Generation (CFT): Enables generation of multi-language product data files
- A connection between your B2C Commerce instance and a Salesforce org on which you have a Data Cloud license. B2C Commerce and POS use the connection to the Salesforce org to securely authenticate with each other. See Connect Your B2C Commerce Instance to Salesforce.
Limitations
Catalog unification supports one site mapped to one Merchant Locale Region (MLR). Catalog unification doesn't support mapping multiple MLRs to a single site.
- Link and Verify Site Catalog for B2C Commerce and POS Catalog Unification
To synchronize catalog data across B2C Commerce and Point of Sale, link each B2C Commerce site to its corresponding Point of Sale Merchant Locale Region (MLR), then verify the catalog configuration. - Schedule and Monitor Product Feeds for B2C Commerce and POS Catalog Unification
Define how frequently product data syncs from B2C Commerce to Point of Sale. Monitor the status of the product feeds. - Map Product Fields for B2C Commerce and POS Catalog Unification
To control how product data transfers during product feeds that support catalog unification, map B2C Commerce product fields to Point of Sale fields. Linking a site to a Merchant Locale Region (MLR) creates automatic field mappings between B2C Commerce and Point of Sale. You can edit some but not all default mappings. - View Unified Data in Point of Sale for B2C Commerce and POS Catalog Unification
After you map product fields between B2C Commerce and POS and schedule product feeds, confirm that product data syncs successfully in Point of Sale.
