Configure Single Sign-On to Enable Merchant Agent Features

Configure single sign-on (SSO) between B2C Commerce and Salesforce so admins can use the Merchant Agent. Use Account Manager or Salesforce as the IdP to establish the trust relationship between the two applications.

The setup steps for single sign-on depend on whether Account Manager or your Salesforce org is the Identity Provider (IdP).

If Account Manager is the IdP, complete these steps:

  • Add an API Client in B2C Commerce.
  • Add Account Manager as an Auth Provider in your Salesforce org.

If Salesforce is the IdP, complete these steps:

  • Create an External Client App.
  • Configure the Auth Provider in the sandbox org.
  • Configure a login flow to manage user identity synchronization.

Before you begin, make sure that you have:

  • Admin access to Account Manager.
  • Admin access to your Salesforce org (permission to manage Auth Providers).
  • Configure SSO Using Account Manager as the IdP
If you’re using Account Manager as an IdP, complete these tasks for the B2C Commerce Merchant Agent to work.
  • Configure SSO with Salesforce as the IdP
If you are using Salesforce as an IdP, complete these steps for a user to access B2C Commerce Merchant Agent capabilities. Configure a Salesforce sandbox org as a relying party (RP) and a primary org as the IdP for the RP.
  • Configure the Salesforce Sign-On URL in Business Manager
After you create an Auth Provider, Salesforce generates a single sign-on URL. Add this URL to the identity synchronization setting in Business Manager. These instructions apply whether Account Manager or the Salesforce org is the IdP for B2C Commerce Merchant Agent access.
