Visual Merchandising in B2C Commerce

Visual Merchandising in B2C Commerce

In Business Manager, the Visual Merchandising workspace is the central place to complete your merchandising activities. Drive customer engagement and sales with the merchandising capabilities of the platform from this workspace. Find Visual Merchandising in your Merchant Tools left navigation, under Products and Catalogs.

With access to the Visual Merchandising workspace, complete many tasks right from the main page.

  • Manage categories. Start typing and see product categories based on how the search index shows them on the storefront.
  • Select your locale, and search keywords to view results and create rules for that keyword.
  • Assign products and category positions.
  • Manipulate products using the product cards, such as pin to top, unassign products, and view variations. Select more than one product card and complete these tasks as bulk actions.
  • Create boost and bury rules based on product attributes.
  • Modify preferences, such as rule attributes, manage ranking rules across the storefront, and configure the product card.

Do some of the Visual Merchandising tasks declaratively or with the B2C Merchant Agent:

Feature Merchant Agent Option Declarative Option
Boost and bury rules for products Create and modify product ranking rules using natural language. See Create Boost and Bury Rules with the B2C Merchant Agent. Influence product ranking in keyword search and category results while preserving standard relevance and sorting logic. See Boost and Bury Rules for B2C Commerce.
Sort products in a category Control product display order, for example, putting high-availability items before other products. See Create a Sort Rule with the B2C Merchant Agent. Learn how boost and bury rules work with the existing sort rules. When boost and bury is active, it influences ranking by modifying the values of the text_relevance and category_position sort attributes. All other sort attributes remain unchanged. See Boost and Bury Rules for B2C Commerce.
Add products to a category Automate product assignment based on attributes, such as brand or product type. See Add Products to a Category with the B2C Merchant Agent. Control Product Position in Categories. Control the order that products appear within a category to highlight the most relevant or promoted items. See Control Product Position in Categories.
