Modify Sharing Settings to Resolve Failed Orders for B2B Stores

To let a Commerce admin resolve process exceptions for failed orders (PlaceOrderFailed), modify the sharing settings for the Process Exception object.

Required Editions

These steps assume that you’ve already defined a role for the Commerce admin.

  1. Click Setup at the top of the page, and then select Setup.
  2. In the Quick Find box, find, and select Sharing Settings.
  3. Configure the organization-wide sharing settings.
    1. In the Organization-Wide Defaults section, click Edit.
    2. For the Process Exception object, set the default internal access to Public Read/Write, and set the default external access to Private.
    3. Click Save.
  4. Define a sharing rule for the Process Exception object.
    It can take a few minutes for the changes made to the Process Exception Object to complete. If you can’t edit the Process Exception Sharing Rules, refresh your browser.
    1. In the Process Exception Sharing Rules section, click New.
    2. Enter a name for the rule.
    3. For rule type, select Based on record owner.
    4. For records to be shared, select Public Groups and All Customer Portal Users.
    5. For users to share, select Roles and select the role that you created for the Commerce admin.
    6. For access level, select Read/Write.
    7. Click Save.
