Checkout Solutions for a B2B Commerce Store
Add checkout functionality, including payment, tax, and shipping services, to your B2B store. If you have a D2C store, you can choose either managed checkout or custom checkout. If you have a B2B store, you can only use custom checkout. Managed checkout integrates Salesforce merchant services and automatic updates for your store’s checkout UI. With customized checkout, you use third-party providers and can customize your store’s checkout UI.

Which Salesforce Commerce Product Do I Have?
Note Managed checkout doesn't support customizations. If you'd like to make any customizations
to the checkout experience, we recommend that you use custom checkout.

- Configure Salesforce Managed Checkout for a D2C Store
Reduce store setup time with managed checkout by using Salesforce’s native merchant services for payment, taxes, and shipping. These integrated merchant services, called managed checkout, eliminate the need for third-party providers. - Configure Custom Checkout for a B2B Store
Custom checkout gives you more control over your store’s checkout configuration. You can use third-party apps instead of Salesforce’s native merchant services for payments, tax, and shipping. Or, you can extend native merchant services using custom checkout. You can design your own checkout page in Experience Builder with preset layouts, custom sections, and components. For B2B stores, custom checkout is the only option for configuring checkout. - Switch Between Managed and Custom Checkout in a D2C Store
Switch from managed checkout to custom checkout to gain more control over your D2C store’s checkout configuration. Or, if you prefer a simpler setup, switch back from custom checkout to managed checkout. - Account Creation for Guest Checkout in B2B Stores
If your B2B store allows guests to purchase products, you can configure whether to create a person or business account for the guest upon checkout. As of Winter ’25, person accounts don’t need to be enabled for B2B store guest checkout. - Considerations for Address Autocomplete for B2B Stores
Customers checking out or entering contact information on the My Account page in a B2B store, a D2C store, or a Pay Now site can enter text in address fields and select possible matches from a picklist. When a customer selects a match from the picklist, their address fields are populated automatically. Get familiar with these considerations for using address autocomplete. - Create Multiple Shipping Profiles for a B2B Store
Create multiple shipping profiles to categorize products. After you set up the shipping profiles, you can define shipping rules based on different zones for each profile. Assign rates based on order value or delivery group weight to meet your store's specific needs. For example, Emma owns a home decor store with a wide range of products. She creates different shipping profiles based on shipping zones and rates. One profile is for light items like wall art and candles, with affordable rates. Another profile is for heavy items like sofas and dining tables, with higher rates to cover professional delivery. By doing this, Emma can manage shipping costs more efficiently. - Manage Shipping Zones and Rates for a B2B Store
Whether you’re using managed or custom checkout, you can organize countries with similar shipping costs into shipping zones. A zone can include countries with different currencies. For each zone, you can set shipping rates based on the monetary value of the order or by weight. - Disable Shipping for a B2B Store
If you’re using managed checkout or native Salesforce shipping for custom checkout, you can turn off shipping for stores that don’t ship physical products. Turn off shipping for stores offering digital goods, service subscriptions, or in-store pickups. - Set Up Gifting for a B2B Store
Enable gifting options for your store. Add gift messaging and gift wrapping features to offer personalized services to your customers. - High Order Volume for B2B Stores
Starting in Summer ’24, the High Scale Orders feature is enabled by default during checkout for new B2B and B2C stores created with the LWR template. However, some initial setup is needed to ensure that the High Scale Orders feature is fully enabled. In addition, developers must understand how this feature can affect their Apex code. The High Scale Orders feature isn’t supported for B2B Commerce Aura stores. - Resolving Asynchronous Order Failures in B2B Stores
B2B stores created with the LWR template in Spring ’23 or later process orders asynchronously. Asynchronous order processing improves store performance and responsiveness. However, when an order is processed asynchronously, the store can sometimes generate failed orders (PlaceOrderFailed exceptions). To handle these exceptions, you give the Commerce admin access to the Process Exception object and activate the Retrigger Place Order flow. - Improve Cart Processing for B2B Stores
Increase cart size limits to process larger orders. Speed up shopping with faster add-to-cart. Let customers add duplicate items to their cart.
