Considerations for Contract-Based Pricing
Review these considerations before you offer contract-based pricing to B2B buyers.
- Contract-based pricing for a buyer account overrides other pricing rules.
- A contract applies to a single currency. Only the currency associated with the contract is used for contract item price records.
- If two contracts include the same product, the contract item price with the latest start date takes effect. If both start dates are the same, the lower price is applied.
- Category-based contract pricing isn't supported.
- Subscription products aren't supported for contract-based pricing.
- Contract-based pricing isn't applied to products in quotes. When a buyer requests a quote, the product list price is used even if a contract price exists.
- After a contract is activated, you can't change its status. To update pricing, create another contract item price record.
- To define contract-level discounts, use contract adjustment records. Discount fields on the contract record aren't supported.
