Multiple Cart Management
B2B buyers can create and manage multiple independent shopping carts simultaneously and manage complex project requirements without mixing data. Apart from the default cart, a buyer can maintain up to five saved carts across all locales for planning and organization. To complete the checkout process, buyers can either use the default cart or mark a saved cart as the default cart. Finally, the buyer can either complete a standard checkout or convert the default cart into a Request for Quote (RFQ) to trigger internal approval flows.
After the multiple carts management feature is enabled and configured, authenticated buyers can add items from the Product page to a saved cart. Buyers can name, rename, or delete these saved carts to keep their procurement organized.
Considerations
- The cart name can have up to 250 unicode characters. Avoid using special characters in
the cart name, including
\"'<>@!$#&%\\{[]}. If unspecified, a cart name is generated automatically using the pattern,Untitled Cart - [Date] [Time]. - Saved carts support simple products, static bundles, product sets, subscriptions, and variants. However, any configurable items such as dynamic bundles or simple products with configurable attributes are currently not supported.
- Buyers can’t checkout from the saved carts. Buyers will first mark a saved cart as default and then checkout by using that cart.
- Only authenticated buyers can save products in saved carts. This feature isn’t available for guest shoppers.
- Buyers can’t submit a request for a quote or enter a promotion code using the saved carts.
- Buyers can only view carts that correspond to the current active locale.
- A saved cart is locked to the currency of the first item added to the cart. To shop in a different currency, a buyer must create a cart.
- The mini cart currently can’t show the saved carts. The dropdown showing the list of carts is only available if the mini cart feature is turned off.
- The cart dropdown list shows the default cart and four most recently modified saved carts.
- Enable Multiple Carts for B2B Buyers
Configure your store to allow buyers to organize their purchases into independent project-based carts. After the multiple cart feature is enabled in your store, use Experience Builder to add multiple cart management components to your store.
