Pin Products to Category Pages
Pin up to 10 products to fixed positions on B2B category pages to ensure that high-priority products appear first. Pinned products override the sorting order and always appear first in the order you define. By pinning products to category pages, you can prioritize high-margin items, contract SKUs, safety-critical products, or seasonal promotions without developer support. Pinning rules apply per category and can vary by store and locale.
While creating the Pin Products rule, keep these considerations in mind.
- You can create one pinning rule per category, pin up to 10 products per category, and control the order in which they appear.
- Pinning applies only to category pages, not search results.
- Pinning works only when shoppers view the default sort order of Best Match. If shoppers change the sort order, for example, to Price: Low to High, all products sort normally and pinning doesn't apply.
- You can preview your pinning rules without reindexing by selecting the category, locale, and date.
- If a product is both pinned and included in a boost and bury rule for the same category, the pinning is prioritized.
- For products grouped by parent or Best Match, pin either parent or variant products. Pinned products show as grouped tiles.
- For ungrouped products, pin variant products. Parent products don't appear on the product listing pages.
- In the navigation sidebar, select a store from the Store dropdown.
- Select .
- Click New Rule.
- Select the type as Category, and select a target.
- Enter a name for the pinning rule.
- Select a locale.
- Select the configuration action as Pin.
- Click Pin Products, and select up to ten products.
- Reorder your product selection and save the rule.
-
Preview your rule to see how it affects product positioning.
Rule changes appear on your storefront within 3-5 minutes.
