          Synonym Rules for B2B Stores

Synonym rules define relationships between different search terms that buyers use to describe the same product. Buyers often search using everyday language rather than your exact catalog terms. By mapping alternate words to your catalog terminology, synonym rules ensure searches return relevant results and make products easier to discover. Configure one-way rules for targeted mappings or two-way rules for fully interchangeable terms. For example, a one-way rule allows a search for “sofa” to return products named “couch”, while a two-way rule ensures searches for either term return results for both.

Keep these limits and behaviors in mind while creating synonym rules.

          • Create up to 100 synonym rules per store. Each rule supports a maximum of 10 words, including the search term.
          • Synonym rules are case insensitive.
