Order Fulfillment and Commerce Delivery Service

CDS unites all parts of delivery and fulfillment under one umbrella.

• Processing times: Set processing times to guide and inform routing. You can configure processing times at multiple levels: location, category, product, and SKU.
• Shipping carriers and methods: Connect your org to pre-selected carriers to get real-time shipping data, or add your own carriers and configure static shipping information. Create methods to provide customers with flexibility to fit their individual needs.
• Routing rules: Control order routing without navigating large, complex flows. Create custom routing rules and detailed flow logic to make routing work for your org. Make groups of rules that select fulfillment locations based on inventory, distance, splits, processing time, markdown risk, and more.
• Delivery estimations: Finally, use your processing time, real-time shipping info, and custom-built routing to provide your customers with precise delivery times for their orders.

Some parts of CDS can be used independently. For example, you can still set up Delivery Estimations even if you use flow-based routing instead of routing rules. However, Delivery Estimation can’t use flow-based routing to predict delivery dates. It will rely on carrier data, processing times, and, optionally, the default routing logic.

  The Order Fulfillment Setup section is the landing page for all components of Commerce Delivery Service (CDS).
• Set Up Shipping for Order Management
  Order Management supports both managed and static shipping carriers. The managed shipping carriers are Canadian Post, FedEx, Royal Mail, UPS, and USPS. A shipping carrier method is a specific method that transports a product or order to its destination. For example, an org that uses the shipping carrier FedEx has the shipping carrier methods FedEx Overnight, FedEx Priority, and FedEx Ground.
• Configure Processing Times for Order Management Fulfillment Locations
  Fulfillment times can vary depending on the product and the location fulfilling the order. Define processing times at the location level, category level, item level, or a combination. This granular level of processing data informs the order routing engine and provides more accurate delivery estimates.
• Routing via Rules
  Use rule groups to modify routing logic directly in the Order Management UI instead of using code or Salesforce Flow.
• Delivery Estimations for Order Management Overview
  Provide customers with accurate delivery times by showing delivery dates on your store’s product detail and checkout pages.
