          Create a Markdown Avoidance

          Create a Markdown Avoidance

Markdown avoidance reduces the risk of products selling at a discounted price by shipping products from locations at risk of future discounts. To implement a markdown avoidance, create one in the Markdown Avoidance tab, sync it, and then add it to a rule group.

          1. In Order Management, go to Order Fulfillment Setup.
          2. In the Markdown Avoidance tab, click New.
          3. Enter a name, external reference, and description.
          4. Set a start and end date, which determines how long the rule prioritizes the at-risk locations.
          5. Score your rule. The score is assigned to locations that fit the rule’s conditions. Locations with higher scores are prioritized during routing.
          6. Click Next.
          7. Select whether the rule applies to specific products or all products in the specified locations.
          8. If you selected Specific Products or Categories, select the products or categories.
          9. Click Next.
          10. Add locations that are at risk of a price markdown.
          11. Click Save.
          12. Sync your markdown avoidance.

After you’ve created your markdown avoidance rule, add it to a rule group and assign it a weight. The rule group calculates each rule’s weight with the location scores to select the best locations for fulfillment.
