Create a Markdown Avoidance
Markdown avoidance reduces the risk of products selling at a discounted price by shipping products from locations at risk of future discounts. To implement a markdown avoidance, create one in the Markdown Avoidance tab, sync it, and then add it to a rule group.
- In Order Management, go to Order Fulfillment Setup.
- In the Markdown Avoidance tab, click New.
- Enter a name, external reference, and description.
- Set a start and end date, which determines how long the rule prioritizes the at-risk locations.
- Score your rule. The score is assigned to locations that fit the rule’s conditions. Locations with higher scores are prioritized during routing.
- Click Next.
- Select whether the rule applies to specific products or all products in the specified locations.
- If you selected Specific Products or Categories, select the products or categories.
- Click Next.
- Add locations that are at risk of a price markdown.
- Click Save.
- Sync your markdown avoidance.
After you’ve created your markdown avoidance rule, add it to a rule group and assign it a weight. The rule group calculates each rule’s weight with the location scores to select the best locations for fulfillment.
