Schedule the Vertex Tax Rate File Download for Point of Sale

Download the Vertex tax rate file manually or on a schedule so Point of Sale can calculate taxes while offline.

  • Modern POS App Build: 10.2.1 or greater
  • Platform Support: iPad & iPhone
  • Offline Support: Yes

This task applies to merchants supporting both online and offline transactions. For online transactions, taxes are calculated directly by Vertex, so a tax feed is not required. However, in offline mode, merchants must download the tax file from their Vertex portal and either upload the file manually or schedule it to run after a fixed interval.

Note
Note We currently support only U.S. offline taxes for Vertex.

Manual Upload

  1. Verify that the Tax Rates field mappings are correctly set, as shown in the screenshot below. To configure this, go to Feeds | Field Mappings | Tax Rates. Proper mapping is necessary due to the flat structure of the Vertex rate file.
