Migrate Point of Sale Connected Apps to the Client Credentials Flow

Migrate your existing Point of Sale connected app from the OAuth username-password flow, which Salesforce is deprecating, to the client credentials flow. You need admin access to each Salesforce org where Point of Sale uses the flow.

  1. In the org that hosts your connected app, turn on Enable Client Credentials Flow.
    Note
Note You turn on Enable Client Credentials Flow only one time. The change can take a few minutes to propagate before you apply the run-as user.

For the detailed Salesforce Platform steps, see Migrate from OAuth Username-Password to Client Credentials Flow in Salesforce Help.

  2. Apply a run-as user in each org where Point of Sale uses the OAuth username-password flow.

The run-as user is the user whose username your client previously used with the OAuth username-password flow.

  3. In the Point of Sale CMS, go to Store Management | Store Settings | System | Rollout, and turn on the Enable Connected App client_credentials OAuth flow setting.
The Enable Connected App client_credentials OAuth flow setting turned on in the Rollout section of the Point of Sale CMS System settings.
  4. Create or save your OMS and CRM configurations again so that Point of Sale starts using the new flow.
